William Mastrogiulio

Welcome to my site.

My interest in creating non-objective art began in 1988. What started out as ‘just painting’ has evolved to include, at times, paper collage and mixed media. As much as I would like to have some sort of manifesto for the things that I make, I suppose the process of getting from the blank canvas to a finished piece really has a lot to do with (mostly self-taught) techniques bumping-up against the constant variables that I let occur. On many occasions initial ideas that may spark a new picture often get ‘consumed’ by an intuitive momentum taking me down a road never traveled. And I truly enjoy the muddling through, and the (mental and visual) grunt-work that occurs with almost every work.

I relocated to White Plains, New York in 2014, after being a life-long resident of New York City.
